Expecting the Unexpected at Trial

October 8,2019 thru October 12,2019
NITA Education Center
1685 38th Street
Boulder, CO 80301
Tuition: $2945.00

New from NITA, a groundbreaking course that teaches you to expect the unexpected at trial. What happens when your witness changes testimony? How do you handle surprises from the bench or opposing counsel? This program is a next-level training that mimics the live flow of trial like no other.

If you feel safe sitting down and watching PowerPoint lectures, this is not the program for you. Featuring the most performance time of any NITA program, we have cut out the case analysis, slashed the lectures, and heightened the pace. You will work closely with and receiving coaching from our expert faculty who will challenge you while creating a supportive learning environment that encourages risk taking. You will be able to try it out here so you can own it in trial.

This program will challenge you to:

  *  Deal with witnesses changing testimony

  *  React when a judge rules against you on critical evidentiary points

  *  Pick and persuade a jury in the age of social media

  *  Effective examination (direct and cross) of damages experts

  *  Admit social media into evidence

This program features:

  *  Jury selection – attorneys will select two separate juries

  *  Fast paced drills on objections

  *  Advanced exhibit techniques

  *  Long form examinations

  *  Full jury trial

  *  Opportunity to debrief with the jurors, judges and faculty

If you are an attorney with a solid set of trial skills, who thinks there is not a training that can challenge you and take you to the next level, let NITA show you otherwise. Sign up today.

Meals

Snacks and refreshments are provided every day of the program.  Participants will be on their own for breakfast, lunch will be provided.

Attire

Attendees are encouraged to wear "courtroom attire" during the program. Not only might a lawyer's appearance have an effect on the trier of fact, and is thus a matter of concern for the serious advocate, but it has been our experience that attendees dressed more formally than the usual CLEattire find themselves more easily “getting into character” and presenting a more polished performance. Dressing for court also provides each attendee with more realistic feedback when watching the recorded performances each day. On occasion, there may be a casual day during the program that will be announced on-site.
