For the second year in a row, NITA worked with Cardinal Gibbons High School's Mock Trial Team in Fort Lauderdale, FL on a very specialized public service program. NITA Faculty Judge Chris Sprague and Ashley Willcott ventured to Fort Lauderale to work with a team of mock trial students on January 14th, who are preparing for their competition. Judge Sprague stated, "It's always been a pleasure to teach receptive, hard working, and enthusiastic students. Many thanks to the Cardinal Gibbons High School Mock Trial Team for their kind hospitality, and best of luck on your upcoming competition."
Similiary, Willcott, who taught at the program in December of 2017 as well, stated, "It was an honor to provide NITA training to these students for a second year in a row. They were so engaged and familiar with the facts of their case study for the competition. It is always fun to train students who are so bright and intent on using correct trial skills, while having fun learning. After listening to our NITA lectures on skills including direct and cross examination, objections and closing, each student had the opportunity to perform and receive critiques, which they each did zealously with such positive energy and spirit."
Thanks to Mock Trial Coach, Luiz Bravim for working with NITA to put this program together and good luck to the Mock Trial Team who will be participating in the District tournament in Feburary with the hopes of advancing to States.
