John T. Baker – Expert in legal ethics and civil law including products liability and commercial litigation
Mr. Baker currently concentrates on complex litigation and public interest law with his own firm in Denver, Colorado. He is also NITA’s Public Programs Educational Director and has been teaching for NITA since the 1970s.
Patricia C. Bobb – Expert in medical malpractice and is also available to speak about the NITA organization and methodologies
With over 30 years of trial and firm management experience and having tried more than 100 jury and bench trials in both federal and state courts, Ms. Bobb currently focuses on personal injury cases with an emphasis on medical malpractice and general civil litigation at the firm of Propes & Kaveney, LLC in Chicago. Ms. Bobb has been a NITA Trustee since 1987.
Mark S. Caldwell – Expert in public service and professionalism
A long-time educator, Mr. Caldwell is NITA’s Director for Specialty Programs, Mr. Caldwell designs, administers and serves as an instructor for programs in bankruptcy litigation, child advocacy, and tax litigation. As a program director for many of NITA’s courses he works with lawyers and advocates who represent under-served communities.
Michael J. Dale – Expert in the rights of children
Mr. Dale is a faculty member at the Nova Southeastern University Law Center. Before joining the Nova faculty Mr. Dale spent time in private law practice in Phoenix and was Executive Director of the Youth Law Center in San Francisco after serving as Attorney in Charge of the Special Litigation Unit of the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society of the City of New York. He is the author of several books and has been a NITA Program Director for 12 years.
Lawrence Kessler – Torts, criminal law and procedure, and general trial/litigation issues
Mr. Kessler is a NITA Program Director and the Richard J. Cardali Distinguished Professor of Trial Advocacy at Hofstra University School of Law. He is a former senior trial attorney for the Legal Aid Society, Federal Court Branch, and has actively practiced law as a criminal defense attorney in the Federal District Courts for more than 25 years.
Michael H. Ginsberg – Expert in the purchase of CLE products from a large law firm perspective
Mr. Ginsberg is a commercial trial lawyer who has concentrated his practice during the past 19 years in the area of insurance coverage litigation, focusing primarily on environmental, product liability, and bad faith insurance claims. He is on the NITA Board of Trustees and is the Training Partner for Jones Day.
Louise A. LaMothe – Expert in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation, both domestic and international
Ms. LaMothe's experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) spans over twenty years, and includes service as a mediator, arbitrator and advocate. She has presided over a wide variety of cases. Ms. LaMothe is the Chair of the NITA Board of Trustees.
Laurence M. (Lonny) Rose – Expert in legal education, evidence, and professionalism
Mr. Rose is the President and Chief Executive Officer of NITA and has taught for NITA since the mid-1970s. He is also a Professor of Law and Director of the Litigation Skills Program at the University of Miami School of Law.
Robert A. Stein – International law, international advocacy training, war crimes, the war crimes tribunals
Mr. Stein is a NITA Program Director whose private practice includes both civil and criminal litigation, representation in state and federal courts, as well as on the appellate level. Recently, Mr. Stein returned from a year in The Hague, Netherlands, where he participated in the defense of an individual brought before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
Karen S. Steinhauser – Expert in legal education, civil and criminal evidentiary issues, and criminal law and procedure.
After a 20-year career as a Chief Prosecutor in the Denver District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Steinhauser is now a trial consultant and practicing in the areas of medical malpractice, employment law, personal injury, and private victim representation. She has been a NITA faculty member since 1992.
